^Lot 385 Makonde Abstract Female Statue, Tanzania

East Africa, Tanzania, probably Makonde style abstract female figure mounted on custom stand. Contorted legs with a buckled knee and one leg missing. The female figure with one arm. Size: 37 1/8" H (including base), 11 1/4" W. Condition: Fine surface patination, carved without leg and arm (not missing). Provenance: Family collection of an esteemed diplomat and ambassador amassed during travel and work circa 1960-1990s in the medical field providing charitable advanced medical care throughout the African continent and internationally.
