^Lot 381 African Baule Wooden Figure

Africa, Ivory Coast. Carved wooden figure from the Baule people of the Ivory Coast. Carved from a hardwood, the dark wood exhibits lighten shades from wear and age creating an attractive patina. Two carved crosses below the figures eyes. Size 12 3/4" L, Weight 343 g. Condition: Loss and crack to figures foot base as well as to section of the head.. Provenance: Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
