Chokwe Angola, wonderful wood carved helmet mask. Wooden face is accentuated by a skillful use of natural pigments, braided woven fiber under the chin, with a handsome feathered headdress. Such masks were typically used in rituals to honor ancestors and maintain social order. Size 15" H x 17 1/2" W, 36 1/2" H with stand. Condition: Wonderful natural patina throughout from age and use..
