^Lot 223 Inuit Bone Flying Shaman Figure, From Spence Bay

Canada, Taloyoak / Talurjuaq, formerly Spence Bay, Eskimo peoples carved flying shaman figure by Ookeetok in 1973. The figure in a prone or flying position wearing a thick coat with a hood resting behind his head. The eyes have been inlaid in fine stone or bone material. Size 12" L x 5 1/2" W. Condition: good with wear to surface and leg in naturalistic deterioration. Provenance: ex-Southern California collection, prior New Zealand Auction
