Lot 57 Antique Kentucky Half-stock rifle with Leman Lock
Kentucky style half-stock rifle made by unknown gunsmith, circa 1850. Rifle measures 53 1/2" overall with 37- 1/2" octagon to round smoothbore barrel in 44 caliber with rifle sights with rear sight being a modern flip sight. Percussion lock marked "Leman/ Lancaster PA" with single trigger control. Curly maple half-stock with brass hardware and pewter nosecap. Comes with hardwood ramrod. CALIBER: 44. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall poor with under rib loose and metal turning a dark brown patina with areas of oxidation. Wood has burnout around lock and has been cleaned. Pitted bore with poor mechanics.
