Lot 51 Eagle Patchbox Flintlock Kentucky Possibly Southern Rifle
Flintlock Kentucky rifle with Federal Eagle finial patchbox similar to rifles built in the South or possibly made as a trade rifle in Philadelphia, PA. area. Rifle was originally purchased as a wreck in Georgia. Rifle has a 62 caliber octagon smoothbore barrel with no markings and has rifle sights. Commercial two bolt flintlock with single trigger control. Plain maple fullstock with brass hardware including a four piece patchbox with Federal Eagle finial. Comes with hardwood ramrod. CALIBER: 62. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Metal has pitted brown appearance with burnout around breech. Wood has been sanded with cracks and replacement sections along forestock. Brass retains a golden yellow unpolished finish. Dark pitted bore with functioning mechanics. Rifle displays very nicely.
