Lot 1021 Unsigned Percussion Boot Pistol .45 Cal
SN: 215. Civil War era box lock, single-shot, percussion boot pistol. Unsigned, 2 3/4" twist off round/octagonal barrel, wooden grips in 'bag' style grip frame. Metal finish has turned a gray patina, one-cock hammer action is really stiff, but functions, the serial number is stamped on the frame under the left grip. Period engraving of the name "F. Carter" is on the heel. Many soldiers on both sides purchased these style pistols during the war. Bore is dark/pitted, grips are very good.
