Lot 936 Merwin & Bray Single-Shot Derringer .32 RF

SN: 2895. Unmarked, but is believed to be a Merwin & Bray single shot .32 caliber pocket pistol. Civil War era. Unique pistol has a swing-out octagonal 3 3/4" barrel and brass frame, barrel has a single brass blade sight. Barrel pivots to the right for loading, with a push release underneath the brass frame. Pistol also features a spur trigger, and polished smooth wood grips. Action is smooth, barrel locks up tight, finish has turned a brown patina,serial number on heel matched to the grips, bore has scattered areas of pitting. Circa 1859-1866. Many of these Merwin & Bray were unmarked.
