England, sometime before 1904. The stamps on the locks read I. HOLLIS & SONS.
This would have been a very nice shotgun for fowl hunting in 19th Century England
The proofmarks were in use from 1813 until 1904 when they were changed.
They indicate blackpowder proof and that the barrels were choked.
The barrels measure 29.5 inches long.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces are dark and smooth.
The engravings and markings are still clear and crisp.
The stock is very good with no major damage - a few scratches and bumps butt we
would rate it as 80% .. Butt plate is excellant and original.
