Antique long gun appears to be a smoothbore, is marked "Smith's Improved Patent Stud Lock" on top tang. Features 31.5" octagon barrel, ramrod, smooth walnut stock, no forend, semi crescent buttplate, blade front and notched rear sights. Thin scroll engraving around forward part of action and on top tang. Bore is a smooth light brown color. Metal is cleaned, showing some brown color over silvery gray, a few small scraped areas show bright metal. Wood is good condition overall, solid, with dents and scratches, small crack near action.
