^Lot 978 German Bowie Knife

Made for export to Mexico and South America, marked "Fernando Esser Elberfeld Acero Fundido Garantizado, No. 859 & Trademark logo of horse. Circa 1880's. Features a 14" clip point blade, fancy brass mounts and processed horn grip scales. Embossed leather scabbard w/ German silver mounts and frog on carrier retainer. Blade shows dark patina w/ moderate wear and use. Scabbard has some cracking and some aging. Good to Very Good condition. From the Joseph Musso Collection
