Made in huge amount of differant configuartions and calibers - This one is a 303
Savage with a 26" barrel ..
Condition is an 7/10 .

Seial number is 40439 which dates to 1903 manufacture

Bluing is worn around the carry portions of the gun - Stock is very good all over with
only one tiny (less that an inch) crack behind receiver.. - fading blue finish with some
light pitting on receiver area.. , butt stock has Savage crescent butt plate,

Brass round indicator window on left side.

Barrel is very good with opriginal iron sights. Rifling is fair.

A nice clean gun overall . Unusual hexagonal barrel.. much more rare than the round
barrel usually found on the 99's

The .303 Savage is a rimmed, .30 caliber rifle cartridge developed by the Savage
Arms Company in 1894 which was designed as a short (as short as the .30-30
Winchester) action cartridge for their Savage Model 1895 later 1899 hammerless
lever-action rifles.
