Portuguese military tube-fed bolt action service rifle chambered in 8x56Rmm, built in Austria by Steyr circa 1886. Features a blued finish, 32.25" barrel, dovetailed inverted 'v' front sight, flip-up ladder rear sight, full-length tube magazine, three barrel bands with a bayonet lug on the front band, cleaning rod, straight bolt handle, magazine cut off switch, Mauser style safety, smooth black leather sling and a smooth full length wood stock with metal buttplate & two circular military cartouches on the buttstock. (Feint) Serial numbers match on the receiver, barrel, & stock, mismatched numbers on bolt. Shows a dark brown patina on the barrel and retains some of it's blued finish on the receiver. . Action is smooth, the bore is excellent, markings are very good and the wood stock is good to very good with many blemishes. Condition is NRA Very Good. Antique Firearm.
