^Lot 783 HIGH CONDITION US SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1863 RIFLE

BARREL 40". CALIBER 58. The Type 1 1863 rifle does not have barrel band springs. Lock and barrel are dated 1863. Standard features include 3-bands, ramrod, full length walnut stock with a crisp as new ESA inspector cartouche on left side, two leaf rear sight. Finished in the white. Condition. Bore is bright as new. Barrel has some toning. Stock is near mint with few dings and impressions. Does not appear to have been issued and never saw any service. Would be hard to find a nicer example of a Type 1 rifle. ANTIQUE
