^Lot 778 US SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1855 MUSKET

BARREL 40". CALIBER .58. Lock is dated 1859, priming door has eagle and lock is stamped US SPRINGFIELD. Barrel has eagle proof on left side but no date on top. Has the 800 yard rear sight, metal finished in the white, 3-bands, metal rod, full length walnut stock with no visible cartouche stamps. Condition. Metal has been cleaned and there is some pitting at breech, as well as a few other scattered spots. Wood has been refinished. Bore is dirty. ANTIQUE
