SERIAL NUMBER 2029 BARREL 6" CALIBER .38 COLT AUTO MANUFACTURED 1901. Factory letter indicates pistol was shipped with blue finish 6" barrel and grips not listed. Sold to to Mr. L.L. Collins and factory shipped to Wyeth Hardware & Mfg. Company St, Joseph MO. in a single gun shipment. Previous owner has done extensive research into Mr Collins who was a practicing Attorney and has also obtained examples of circa, 1900 Wyeth Hardware sales invoices and paperwork. pistol retains the fully functional sight safety mechanism , Checkered hard rubber Colt grips with Rampant Colt monograms. Slide has forward slide serration's and spur hammer. Matching numbers on slide and frame. CONDITION. Good as found with exterior finish having toned to dove grey with good bore with some oxidation in grooves. Action operates properly. Comers with paperwork, small display case and factory letter. C&R
