Lot 732a W. Ashton Boot Pistol .32 Cal. NVSN

Single-shot, percussion, underhammer, boot pistol 4" round to octagonal barrel marked W. Ashton. (William Ashton of Middleton, Ct.) circa 1850. .32 cal. rifled bore. Brass frame, walnut bag grips. Used by both sides during the Civil War as a private purchase back-up pistol. Bore is dark with rifling present. Grips are very good, right grip is loose, barrel has turned a gray patina, mechanically functional. NRA Condition-Very Good. Antique firearm.
