^Lot 362 1863 Soldiers Pocket Book

Softcover Pocket book containing scriptures, hymns, prayers, psalms, 10 Commandments, and hints for Civil War soldiers this copy has an inscription reading ( "To Miss Christianna Mestzger from her cousin Sergt A. O. Deminger army of the Potomac). Some browning to ends of papers. These little books, measuring 3" x 4 were distributed to departing soldiers going off to war. Most were through religious organizations; this one was from the Presbyterian Board of Publications in Philadelphia. This book was likely printed for the year 1863, as there is a calendar page for 1863.
