Original N.P Ames marked model 1833 artillery short sword dated 1833 with scabbard. Good condition with N.P Ames and Springfield fully visible under about half visible Springfield eagle on other side. The reversed side of ricasso is marked united states 1833. The blade is good with some pitting, near ricasso and light cleaning. The scabbard is good with normal aging an imperfections but good an tight seam. Brass shows even uncleaned patina an extremely hard to find early example of a short sword.
