"Takedown Rifle" manufactured circa 1921. Features 24" round barrel (marked 'nickel steel'), half length magazine tube with take-down lever at cap, buckhorn sights (front sight marked "Lyman"), straight grip, shotgun butt with checkered gutta percha buttplate. Bore is very good condition, bright with sharp rifling. Barrel & magazine tube retain 70% blued finish, with scratches & scrapes, small areas of patina, bare metal at muzzle. Action is mostly bare metal, dull light gray in color, with traces of bluing remaining at edges of receiver scallops, lower tang, sides of lever. Screw slots are fair condition with light marring. Wood is good condition with scratches and dents, oil staining at wrist. Wood fit to metal and buttplate are both good. Buttplate is good condition. Action is smooth. Markings are sharp and even. Marked "MODEL 1886" on right side of barrel, "MADE IN USA" on left side of barrel. Condition is NRA Good + *** C&R Firearm ***
