CMP Rack Grade Early Serial Number M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle, #16956, .30-06 cal., 24'' barrel, parkerized finish, walnut stock, Blade front sight and adjustable aperture rear sight. Marked on receiver tang ''U.S.RIFLE CAL..30 M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY''. right side of barrel is marked ''3-SA 9 44''. Receiver mfg'd Sept. 1939. Bolt marked ''SA'', operating rod marked ''HRA''. Trigger housing and hammer marked ''IHC''. The new production stock and handguards are unmarked. Condition overall is very good with metal surfaces retaining approx. 60% finish. Buttplate and front sight have been refinished. Stock and handguards are in excellent new condition. Action is smooth, bore is very good with very good rifling.
