Remington Model 2 Rolling Block Sporting Rifle, #H42369, .22 RF cal., 24'' blue octagonal barrel, case hardened frame, perch belly smooth straight walnut stock and Schnabel tip forend, with ebony inlay at tip; standard sporting type rear sight and bead type front sight. Mfg'd 1873-1910. Later examples such as this feature Remington nomenclature to left side of frame. Condition is near excellent. Barrel retains approx. 94% lightly thinning and toning blue; frame with vivid case colors; highpoints have thinned to approx. 75%. Hammer and block retain approx. 92% factory blue. Tang has thinned and toned somewhat and additionally features factory threaded holes for tang sight. Stock retains approx. 85% thinning and flaking varnish, with light general scratches and small impressions. Action is crisp, bore is bright. An excellent example of an often well-used firearm.
