U.S. issue Hall patent breach loading carbine by Harper's Ferry Arsenal dated 1851 on the block. The barrel measures 21" overall in .52 caliber smoothbore. (Refer Flayderman 9-A-277 1 of 10,500 produced). The stock isperiod soldier carved in block letters "J. Brooks 22 Iowa IN" and "W" (Illegible) below left side of the action. Missing rod. Fair to good uncleaned as found condition. Some pitting and normal imperfections. Carving is"Drop dead real!". (Antique) Est.: $1500-$3000
