^Lot 158 Model 1913 Patton Enlisted Cavalry Saber

Model 1913 Patton Enlisted Cavalry Saber, made by Springfield Armory and dated 1914. Condition is very good overall. The 35'' double-edged blade is bright, with some old dried grease on it, but should clean up nicely, marked at ricasso ''US 29546'' and ''S A 1914'' with the flaming bomb proofmark. Original leather blade washer is present, but a loose fit. Steel cupped guard shows some age, checkered grip panels are in good shape. Scabbard is covered in a khaki-colored woven cotton burlap material that shows age, soiling, and scuff marks. Metal tip on bottom of scabbard and metal top fitting with two mounting rings are in good shape. A nice example. Est.: $500-$700.
