Fine Civil War era spear point bowie knife by “Crookes & Clarke” with a 9 ¼” blade if thick stock and etched slogan “Always Ready” a military slogan used by man Army units and Coast Guard. Mellow aged stag grips withbrass and German silver mounts. Original scabbard with tip, throat and hanger button. The blade is near fine with minor pitting and erosion near tip. Bright original lead polish and full dimensions with 95% plusfrosty etching. A strong 9.5 on a 1-10 scale. Est.: $2500-$5000
