American half stock percussion plains rifle circa 1840-1860 with heavy octagon barrel and engraved German silver patch box and mounts. Barrel measures 35” and 51“overall in approximately .40-.42 caliber rifled (1 1/8”across the muzzle). Lock and triggers working. Good “V” notch rear sight with blade front sight. The stock shows breaks and repairs. Typical of early “Going West” rifles of Hawken and mountain man era. (Antique)Est.: $300-$600
