Winchester Model 57 Bolt Action Rifle, #27031, .22 LR cal., 22'' barrel, blue finish, pistol-grip walnut stock, checkered metal buttplate, sling swivels, globe front sight, and folding ''V''-notched rear sight. Left side of receiver does not have the original sight but is fitted with a Lyman #60 aperture sight. Stock with the factory cutout visible below the present sight. Included is one original 5-shot Winchester marked magazine. Left side of barrel and receiver are both Winchester proofed. Mfg'd 1936. Condition is very good overall with approx. 70%-75% factory blue finish. Thinning and toning to parts of the bolt and receiver, as well as the presence of almost no finish on the triggerguard, account for a majority of the finish loss. Receiver with a few spots of mild pitting, proofmark is a little worn, the remaining factory lettering including the barrel address is clear. Stock shows scattered surface dents and scratches, showing age and wear consistent with the rest of the rifle; left side starting at the front of the rear sight cutout and moving towards the chamber with an approx. 1.25'' hairline crack.
