Smith & Wesson 2nd Model Hand Ejector Double Action Revolver, #53531, .44 Spec. cal., 6.5'' barrel, blue finish, factory checkered matching numbered high horn magna walnut grips with bright medallions, with lanyard loop in butt, case hardened hammer and serrated trigger. Shipped from the factory on March 25, 1938, to Washington State Patrol, Olympia, WA, with factory letter signed by S&W Historian Roy G. Jinks. Grips are internally marked ''W.E. Campbell/Vancouver''. Condition is fine retaining approx. 90%-92% original high luster blue, with thinning to left side of barrel, highpoints of cylinder, and backstrap. Serial number on butt with star prefix indicating return to factory for refinish or repair. Grips show only light wear. Action is crisp with tight lockup, bore is bright. Est.: $1,200-$1,800.
