Winchester Model 42 Standard Grade Slide-Action Shotgun, #53097. 26'' .410 bore plain barrel has 3'' chamber and is choked Full. Forend is 18-groove early ''tootsie roll'' configuration, and pistol-grip buttstock has no grip cap or checkering, but has original early Winchester buttplate. Mfg'd 1946. Condition is very good and 100% original, with many pre-war features in this early post-war gun. Wood has some handling marks; there is carry wear to the receiver bottom, but little wear to the action, which functions well. Bore is dirty but not pitted. Est.: $1,250-$1,750. (C&R)
