Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle, #122586, .38-70 cal., 28'' blue octagonal barrel, case hardened frame and lever, smooth straight walnut stock and forend, crescent steel buttplate, with standard rear and semi-circular blue front sight blade. Mfg'd 1900. Condition is fine. Barrel retains approx. 80% thinning and toning original blue; magazine tube is somewhat thinner, especially towards muzzle. Case colored frame, lever and hammer have toned a grayish brown. Loading gate with approx. 85% blue remaining; rear half of loading gate is blue as well. Rear sight assembly missing elevator, screw and movable aperture. Buttstock and forend with light general scuffs and scratches, and a light additional coat of linseed oil.
