Swiss Vetterli Model 1881 bolt action rifle, 10.4 x 38 caliber, Serial #222585. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 33” barrel. The metal surfaces retain the majority of their thinning blue finish with wear at the muzzle and high point edge wear. The barrel retains the cleaning rod, bayonet lug and features a blade front and military tangent style rear sights. The receiver is marked; “WAFFENFABRIK BERN” and all visible serial numbers are matching. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with mars, dents and bruising. The trigger guard has a finger extension and the butt ends with a smooth steel butt plate. The bore is good, the action is crisp and the markings are sharp. Est.: $250-$500. (Antique).
