Colt Model 1861 Navy conversion, U.S.N.-marked on butt strap, .38CF caliber, 7.5” barrel, blued and case hardened finish, re-finished wood grips, S/N 1924; overall very good condition displaying traces of blued finish in protected areas of barrel assembly, considerable cylinder scene remaining (cylinder #2684), scattered areas of case colors on frame, crisp action, good markings and very good bore; very good grips as refinished. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter indicating gun originally shipped to the U.S. Navy Dept. c/o Officer Commanding U.S. Navy Yard, Washington, D.C., on Sept. 25, 1861, 200 guns in shipment.
