^Lot 415 19CL-16 GERMAN HUNTING SWORD

Fine and very large antique silver mounted German hunting sword, Hirschfanger, with beautiful one piece silver mounted grip. This extraordinary sword is in pristine condition throughout. The 21 inch long 1 and ¼ inch wide blade has nearly all its original bright polish with only a few minor stains towards the point. The silver clamshell guard and crossguard are fine. The faceted ivory grip is well patinated with none of the usual cracks. The leather scabbard with three mounts in good condition as are the mounts (one minor dent in chape). This fine sword is an impressive 27 inches overall in its scabbard. Totally unmarked but most unusual in size and quality. Est: 700-1200
