Pre-64 Winchester Model 88 Lever Action Rifle, #28883, .308 cal., 22'' barrel, blue finish, checkered pistol-grip walnut stock, black plastic ''Winchester Trade Mark'' buttplate, sling swivels, brown leather sling, hooded silver bead front sight and folding rear sight. No magazine. Mfg'd 1956. Approx. 98% factory blue remains and metal surfaces rate as excellent; right edge of the receiver with a small spot of fine pitting. Factory lettering is clear and well defined. Stock is very good overall with a majority of the original finish and clean sharp checkering; right side shows shallow pressure dents and scratches between the wrist and forend checkering; right side of buttstock with a few light marks. Action and bore are both excellent. A portion of the leather sling is covered with a thin white film from age and would improve with a thorough cleaning. Est.: $450-$650. (C&R)
