G. Sakai, Japan, HSEK ''High Speed Edge Knife'', 9.25'' drop point blade, 14-7/8'' overall, micarta handle with brass attachments and ferrule, and full guard. Blade with ''HSEK'' logo and marked ''G. SAKAI''; opposite side ''SEKI JAPAN''. In original tan leather sheath stamped on the front side ''G/SAKAI''. This knife is currently in fine overall condition and would probably clean up to at least near excellent. Most of the blemishes are from prolonged storage; guard with some verdigris and moderate toning. Blade with what looks like oil spotting; cutting edge is clean; maker's marks are clear. Micarta shows some small handling marks; right side with slight discoloration in a few spots. Sheath shows scattered surface scuffs and scratches and rates as very good. Est.: $200-$300.
