U.S. Colt Model 1873 Single Action ''Artillery'' Cartridge Revolver, frame #8778 (mfg'd 1874) with two-line patent dates and bold U.S. marking, other serial numbers mixed (no number on butt), .45 Colt cal., 5.5'' round barrel with one-line Hartford address, blue and case hardened finish, one-piece walnut grips, and steel grip straps. Condition is good to very good showing overall smooth metal; most of a later reblue remains on barrel. Grips are smooth, solid and very good, showing light inspector cartouches on both sides.
