Authentic Paterson capper for rifles or carbines numbered 60. Very good plus condition with well-defined face showing rampant Colt, Paterson rifle and crossed pistols. Also “Colt’s patent, Firearms Mfg Co, Paterson, N.J.” Original rig at top. Original springs show considerable blue and uncleaned rust. Traces of gold gilt showing strong on interior. Paterson accessories were ultra-high quality and expensive in their day. John Malloy and myself believe this was a major factor in Colt’s bankruptcy. A solid 8 on a 1-10 grading scale.
