Lot 458a The Swift Training Rifle S.R. Mk. IV
British military No 4 pattern bolt action training rifle developed in the 1940's to assist with the fundamentals of marksmanship. The rifle works with a series of 'safeties' that train the proper use of an Enfield rifle and uses a paper target with a protruding needle that lines up with the sight and pokes a corresponding hole in the target. Includes a wood transit case marked "SERIES B" & "RAF." The plaque on the rifle reads "THE SWIFT TRAINING RIFLE/9B/2030/S..R. MK. IV" & "15628." Missing the needle and front sight.
