Lot 703 18HG-16 TRAPDOOR
Springfield 1863 trapdoor rifle, approximately .56 caliber, Serial #11167. The rifle is essentially sold for parts with the action missing the hammer assembly. The metal surfaces have all gone to a silverpatina with the breech block martially marked and dated 1869. The side plate is marked 1863. The smooth wood military stock has seen heavy use with numerous mars, dents and gouges. The butt ends with a U.S. markedsmooth steel butt plate. Est.: $200-$400. (Antique).
