Colt 1861 Navy .36 caliber percussion revolver, S/N 5981 in range shipped to the Army. Good overall condition with gray patina and traces of case colors gone to smoky gray. Minor erosion and slight pin prickpitting. Some holster wear at the muzzle. The grips are good with small losses, dings, mars, and imperfections. A few marks on the butt from tapping. Good barrel address and patent marking on the frame. All matchingnumbers. “L” inspection on the cylinder and back strap. Action works. A Civil war vet singing battle hymn of the republic.
