Lot 726 Fine Art Bronze
"Buffalo Indian Dancer I" Bronze Sculpture by Hugh Cabot (1930-2005) is titled "Noggle Bronze I". This limited edition is #4 of 25, issued in 1975. This traditional Plains dancer has a dynamic presence thanks to Hugh's rough working of the original material. He holds a rattle in his hand & his head is covered with the fur & horns of a bison. As you look around the figure, his emotional intensity can be felt! With the base included, it's 10-1/2" tall & about 7" wide. In excellent condition, the base is dated & signed. This Buffalo Indian Dancer I Bronze Sculpture is magnificent....need we say more? Hugh Cabot III was a war time artist for the Navy. He was a prolific artist & worked in many different mediums. For 37 years, he lived and worked in Tubac, AZ where he had a gallery of his work. This gallery is still open to the public today!
