Early 20th Century by Lela & Van Gutierrez. This blackware is one of a few that you will ever find for sale. The majority of their work is polychrome. Lela Naranjo Gutierrez is world renown as one of the seven matriarchs in the 1974 "Seven Families in Pueblo Pottery" exhibit. Her husband Evangelio Gutierrez (1870-1956) worked with her & produced museum quality pieces. Mostly known for their polychrome artistry, their black-ware is rarely seen!
