^Lot 96 Winchester 1873 .44-40 SN: 157076

Third model, circa 1884. 24 5/16" King's Improvement octagon barrel, full length tube magazine, blade front sight, incorrect rear sporting sight, single set trigger, dust cover, smooth walnut stocks and crescent metal trapdoor buttplate. Rifle exhibits an even light brown patina showing scattered light pin-prick pitting and some scrapes on the receiver. The right side plate is not on correctly, the groove on the bottom right corner is on the outside of the receiver. Action is smooth, bore is good with some pitting and wood stocks are good with a chip on the right side of the forend & gouges on the butt stock which also is slightly shrunken.
