Lot 1039 Triplett Scott Repeating Carbine, .50 caliber, Serial #4243. The

carbine is in fair overall condition with a 30” round barrel. The barrel and receiver have gone to a brown patina with light to moderate surface erosion evident. The receiver is marked, “MERIDEN MANFG. CO.” and “KENTUCKY” on the opposite side. The smooth wood stock has suffered a severe brake at the wrist due to the odd positioning of the magazine tube. Estimated production of the Triplett & Scott number approximately 5000 with 3000 being in the 30” barrel length. Issued to Kentucky Home Guard troops in 1865, whose responsibility it was to guard Sherman’s supply route during the Atlanta campaign. (Antique). Est.: $150-$300.
