"The Long Knives" hand signed in pencil lower left 668/1000. Image measures 18"x27 1/4". Print only with information on the artist in a Greenwich Workshop folio. Frank McCarthy was born in New York City and was drawn to the West since he read Will James novels as a boy. He was also intrigued by N.C. Wyeth illustrations. Frank McCarthy's formal training was at the Pratt Institute and had a career in commercial art and as an illustrator. The lure of the West was strong and he eventually settled in Sedona, AZ and became a member of the Cowboy Artists of America. Frank has had several shows in prominent museums and his work has appeared in many national magazines.
