Colt U.S. Cavalry Model SAA revolver, .45 caliber, 7.5” barrel, nickel finish, ivory grips, S/N 49872, in overall good to very good condition displaying areas of nickel finish mixed with dark patina and scatteredspots of erosion and pinprick pitting; fair to near good bore, crisp action, sharp markings including Henry Nettleton inspection markings; beautifully old ivory grips. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter stating.45 caliber, barrel length likely 7.5”, blued finish, stocks “Not Listed”, sold to U.S. Government and delivered to U.S. Inspector at the Colt plant on August 23, 1878, two hundred guns in shipment.
