Percussion rifle by James Atkinson, Washington County, Pa. 1833-1836. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 40” octagon barrel in .45 caliber. The barrel has gone to a brown patina with a blade front sight. The full-length ram rod is a replacement. The side plate is marked, “ATKINSON WARRANTED” and features double set triggers. The checkered wood half stock is in good condition with nice figure in thebutt stock, mars and compressions consistent with use, iron hardware and a crescent butt plate. Est.: $425-$850.
