^Lot 494 Enfield SHTLE III .303 Brit SN: 896

Made in England in 1918 this is a sporterized bolt-action military battle rifle with a 23.5" barrel, one 10-round detachable magazine, cut down 2-piece stock, sling swivels and aftermarket front and rear sights. No import mark. Metal finish is wearing to grey with some surface rust, freckling and high point edge wear. The bolt and receiver have mismatched serial numbers. The cut-down wood stocks appear to have been sanded and refinished. There is a brass butt plate with a trapdoor. The stock has many scratches, rubs and scuffs. The bore is good with strong rifling.
