French naval style blunderbuss circa 1780-1800s with iron barrel and mounts. In very good plus condition with some minor pitting on the metal but very good plus stocks. Silver inlaid plaque at the wristprobably carried original officer’s crest or initials now removed. Measures 13” overall with a 7” barrel. The barrel has a radical flare to 1 ¼” plus across outside diameter. A very nice Napoleonic era piece from the erawhere great sea battles between French and British occurred.
