Koto period tanto (short sword) signed in fresh state of polish with traditional mounting less kozuka knife which is missing. The blade measures 11 7/8” with flat early style blade. Fine lamination work with minorflaw or opening exposed by polish. Very fine “skin” or grain to steel. Full and wide temper. Papers attached to the sword attribute to Masa Kuni and are copies and not verified. Good quality plain bronze paintedmounts with blackened pebble grain lacquer scabbard. Shakado minuke with kirin. Good old wrap on the grip and mounts are very good plus overall. A quality tanto with a lot of appeal. Est.: $800-$1600
